Faculty Development Programme on E-Learning, Content Development and Delivery System, NU, Meriema

Nagaland University, Kohima campus, Meriema, in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics & IT, Kohima, organised a Faculty Development Programme on E-Learning, Content Development and Delivery System from 17th-24th June 2020 at  NIELIT Kohima.

The Guest of Honour for the inaugural programme was Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Meriema, Prof. Aleminla Ao. She expressed hope that the programme would address the need of the present situation and impart technological skills to the faculty to implement technology aided pedagogy which is going to be a part and parcel of teaching hereon. She exhorted the teaching community to avail the opportunity and learn from the current pandemic that we must accept the reality and keep up with the changes and challenges that come along.

Delivering the keynote address, Director NIELIT, L.Lanuwabang said that e-Learning has changed the way students think about education, and technology has become crucialin learning. He said that e-learning is not intended to replace conventional methods and learning in classroom, but to augment the learning environment wherein technology is used to deliver a combined range of teaching and learning techniques. He also added that technology should be explored to its potential by all stakeholders, particularly when it has proven its usefulness in a time like this.

The FDP was a specially packaged programme for the Nagaland University teachers during which they were trained how to use Tools for e-Content Preparation; Audio Visual e-Content Preparation for Self-paced Learning and Instructor-led Online Classes, Cloud Classroom, and managing classrooms through Learning Management System. The course was co-ordinated by Dr. Ratan Kaurinta  and Dr. Lemtila Alinger (Co-coordinator) from NU, Meriema,  and the Course Director was A. Morimentba Amer from NIELIT, Kohima.
